We should all have a dress with sea shells covering our boobs, don’t you agree? At least I think so. It’s like a legit version of the “coconut bra/straw skirt beach-party look”. Something you can actually wear on a weekday day – not that I would encourage anyone to stop dress up, but with this dress people at least won’t think you’ve had one too many Maitais before the actual cocktail hour starts…
It feels like I’m starting a lot lately with “since I became a mother” and “motherhood, wow time flies”, but in reality, that is my reality! Because “since I became a mother” my life got shaped in such a different way; it shines through in everything I do. Now you all know me quite a bit, and you know I’m not necessarily appealed to becoming a mommy-blogger. Not because I don’t like it, on the contrary, there are so many inspiring mothers, who’s blogs I follow almost obsessively, but for me it’s always been, and always will be about fashion. Though, I get the feeling you guys would love to know more about me and my life as a working mother in New York, a loving wife – I do my best – and of course, as being ME. So without losing the aspect of fashion out of sight, I started letting you into my life a little more… I shared sensitive words about my insecurities, what motherhood means to me, and all the “clichés” around it. And so today’s post is about my ideal Saturday morning! Our kids made me routined, almost to a level where I feel – you wouldn’t notice – I’m not flexible anymore LOL, but truth is, not only the kids function so much better when our routine is in full swing, I am too…
We all know Balenciaga’s buckle boots. I remember ordering them, with my eyes closed from both the excitement as well as the panic of the amount of money I was going to spend. I wore them with so much pleasure, summer and winter, so over the years they definitely made their money worth, but as with every statement piece, I eventually I grew tired of them. Nowadays they are patiently waiting to be worn again and I must admit that when Balenciaga came with a white version of the boots, it sparked my interest again…
It’s not a secret that I love to wear color, yet that I’m very specific on whichcolors I wear. As with finding the right floral print, with color combinations too, it’s all about the right mix. and patterns. It’s a tricky game, and definitely one that always ends – for me at least – with that “underbelly feeling”. I can’t give you a color formula that guarantees success, but what I can tell you is that you have to make sure you pick colors that go with you skin tone. Why? Well, for starters, it will compliment every single cell in your body. It will bring you to life – whereas some colors can make it all go flat… For example, when you have a fair skin, you should definitely opt for a Burgundy over an orange-red, yet, a fire-red will look stunning on you too. Then, of course, there’s always something as “your favorite colors”. It’s hard to step away from them if they just don’t do the trick, but be honest with yourself; as much as you love a color, if it doesn’t work for you, let it go… It’s fine, there’s plenty of colors in the rainbow!
After having spend three good days in Tuscany, Italy, a week and a half ago, I’m obsessing over going back. It literally is one of the most beautiful European places I’ve ever been, and the urge to go back only grew bigger after the huge disappointment of a plate of pasta here in New York… Don’t get me wrong, there’s insanely good Italian restaurants in New York, and I was just unlucky, but where I’m going is that I am anxiously holding on to that feeling of those – oh so short, but so so sweet – Italian days!
