THE ROSIE ASSOULIN RESORT AND SPRING 2019 COLLECTION

Rosie Assoulin Resort and Spring 2019 collection

Are you familiar with womenswear designer Rosie Assoulin? You are? Well, then I don’t have to tell you much about her signature rainbow and voluminous designs, which you can pick out of a million dresses. She is unique, she is feminine, she is bold! I love her, always have, always will. Also, she is a cool person. Not that I know her well personally, but she always makes time for her “admirers”, that’s pretty unique in this fashion industry!

Wait, you DON’T know her? No worries, after reading this article, you will. Here we go… hurrah to the latest Rosie Assoulin Resort and Spring 2019 collection! And you know what, no matter how much you love your million pairs of jeans – I’m part of that club, too – and your simple white tee – she does those as well by the way, but in combination with the most amazing pink maxi – you do need some colour in your life. I make a case for that, and have been doing that for a while. It’s because I found out that I truly, really, and deeply NEED colour in my life – closet and home interior – as much as I need sunshine, loved ones, and my favourite Surinam bean dish… I know, that sounds weird… I am a little weird from time to time. Anyway, my point is: WEAR MORE COLOUR, and from time to time, wear everything Rosie Assoulin. For that last part, I got your inspiration covered! Enjoy!!

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: EVERYTHING YOU REALLY NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE GOLDEN GLOBES 2018

Golden_Globes_2018

This is the first time I’m writing a something about the Golden Globes, and I think with the impact this season has had so far, and the direction we are going with Thefashionguitar.com, it couldn’t be a better moment to start. So there are basically a few important things you need to know about the 75th Golden Globe Awards, honoring film and American television of 2017: 8 female activists were brought as a +1 in support of the #MeToo movement and with that given platform for their causes, there was an all-black dress code in support of Time’s Up, Oprah made a speech that left us speechless, and – of course – this year’s Golden Globe winners

BALENCIAGA KIDS: IS IT FUN OR GONE TOO FAR?

Balenciaga Kids

Okay, I must admit, when I saw the Matches Fashion newsletter in my inbox this morning, I got REALLY excited: Balenciaga Kids! But instantly I felt a kind of embarrassment – even though I didn’t share this excitement with anyone yet – over loving the idea of a $300+ hoodie for my kids. Then again, it’s not the first designer brand that smartly plays on those Balenciaga-loving mommies – like me – and launched a kids collection. It’s actually so smart, because there’s nothing a mother doesn’t want to buy for her kids, even when it’s evidently for an overpriced hoodie… But then again, I LOVE it so much on them!!!

Charlotte Groeneveld from Thefashionguitar wearing Chanel Ready-to-Wear Fall-Winter 2017-18 Pre-Collection

Today is THE day to think about the past year; what are we leaving behind, what are we taking with us, and what’s next? Funny, because when I’m forcing myself to think about this, I have no clue really… my contemplation of year 2017 has happened on many occasions, but on the spot it seems an impossible thing to do. Yet, I feel I owe you a few thoughts and some positive and thankful takeaways before we start 2018 together. I’m going to give it a try and put down a few words that feel are needed to be said… Contemplating in Chanel: How I really feel about 2017!
