To me Haute Couture is like a dream. If I think about fairy princesses, I think about Couture dresses, preferably with myself in it. There’s no prince nor kissing a frog involved in getting me to feel that magical, a Couture dress would simply do. And I guess that’s what makes me come back to the Couture shows in Paris every season… Last July I was in Rome with Valentino, in January I went to my first Chanel Haute Couture show, and this season it was all my favorites in a row: Valentino, Chanel, and ElieSaab. Dreams do come true…
Twirling under the Greek sun on Mykonos is what I would rather be doing right now, but here I am, bound behind my laptop, trying to work my way through a gazillion emails… Positive thing though is that I finally get to upload all the AMAZING photos I’ve taken over the past three weeks. Because what all started with a beauty trip to London and ended at Couture in Paris, had an amazing intermezzo in Mykonos, with the alluring Zimmermann-team and Net-a-Porter squad, who invited me and a bunch of hot girls to celebrate their 10 years of collaborating together. Well, what else does a girl want, right?
And before I knew it, I left Berlin for a short stay at Mykonos, and it was Paris on the horizon. Again, working from some place else than I’m actually writing about. In Paris and reflecting on an amazing time in Berlin with Marc Cain. It wasn’t my first time there, but surely the best one of all. The beautiful weather helped, that’s for sure, I saw the city with such different eyes in the beautiful evening lights. But even more the great team behind this German heritage brand. Young and fresh. Inspired by runways from all over the world, bringing an amazing collection to all of us.
While writing this I’m repacking my Mykonos/Paris suitcase, and getting everything in order for the next, and last, BIG THING of this month: Paris Haute Couture Week. BUT, this time it’s going to be extra special… It’s not only my actual love for Haute Couture that brings me to the city of Paris this summer, THIS time I will be spending the week in Paris with my kids! And that is for the very special reason that they were invited to attend the loveliest Bonpoint SS17 show!
With a wardrobe full of little gems there’s not much more to wish for. Though those gems are most likely to be found in my shoe and bag “department”, as I lately came to realize, my “personal style” is terribly represented in the clothing section of my wardrobe…
