MY PASTEL OBSESSION

Versace Tribute Collection Charlotte Groeneveld Thefashionguitar

Funny enough my obsession with pastel – and pink in specific – didn’t start Yeats ago, when I was a little girl and as one would expect, being pink all the way. On the contrary. As far as I can remember, I never had a thing for it, really, until maybe two years ago. Pastel pink became “millennial pink” and suddenly it was everywhere. Brands created whole brand identities around it, pink walls became essential to interior designers, and I hadn’t seen as many pastel pink collections ever on a runway. And until today, I am, and I feel confident saying we all are, still very much obsessing over it. It’s not over, and I feel it’s going to be here to stay…

BABY IT’S COLD OUTSIDE; BALENCIAGA

Charlotte Groeneveld Thefashionguitar Balenciaga puffer scarf

Okay okay, I know, those bare ankles HAVE to go, but I couldn’t resist posting this look from not too long ago – when it was just cold… not the Arctic. As with the amount of snow that’s falling down at the moment, our only option is to go out in full snow attire, BUT – needless to say – the pink Balenciaga scarf is 100% weather appropriate! And I’m so glad I can finally wear it. It’s been hanging on my clothing rack since my birthday – thank you again MyTheresa – but it never REALLY hit that point below zero where I “needed” to wear it. In all other cases, it’s one scarf too warm. Balenciaga does that so well; their winter coats and scarfs are the best out there, and definitely the warmest.

MY FAVORITE ADAM LIPPES KNIT

Charlotte Groeneveld from Thefashionguitar wearing H&M Trend

Knitwear comes in many forms and colors, we know that. In fact, last week I made a case of wearing more colorful knits this winter – which I still am doing – but for those who are less comfortable with the whole colorful-winter thing, still; here’s the winter knit we all should have, AND is on sale right now: from Adam Lippes.

PURPLE LOVE WITH IENKI IENKI

Charlotte Groeneveld Thefashionguitar wearing Ienki Ienki vest

I love Balenciaga A LOT lately, but going all out in one brand is not my thing, so I tried to recreate my favorite Fall look… One of the best things Balenciage EVER did – in my opinion – is bringing these sock boots to the market. Not anything new, they’ve been around, but these have just the right amount of edge to be up my street! I’ve been wearing them a lot, and they are in fact quite comfortable. You don’t believe me? Of course, they’re “high”, and in more than one way (you really don’t have to wear tights when you wear these) but when a shoe has a certain level of quality, they usually come with a great deal comfort. Though, I’m not wearing them when I know I’m going to have to walk a lot. It’s for the slower days, taxi in, taxi out, meeting here, meeting there. ANYWAY, I recreated this Balanciaga-inspired look with a few of my favorite new winter pieces. Want to know which ones? Read more…

DOING SAFARI LIKE VOGUE IN THE 90S

90s Safari Vogue style by Charlotte Groeneveld from Thefashionguitar

Okay, I swapped the Birkenstocks for these “first of its kind” Gucci loafers – I didn’t even know Birkenstocks were in Vogue in the 90s – and I didn’t race with a leopard while wearing a leopard printed bathing suit – I did wear an animal printed bathing suit this weekend actually, yet I didn’t move an inch – but I did keep it khaki, belted oddly high in the waist, and took the sunset as my preset…
