Sunday morning, I’ve put on my noise cancelling headphones – key to writing in a house with two small kids – but still vaguely hear the kids playing happily in the living room. After a week of major flu epidemics in our house, post-flight neck issues on my end, and big-time recovery from a proper European jet lag for all of us, it’s finally time to get back on the horse and do what I love so much: writing, editing, and sharing it all with you. While selecting my favorites from too many photos, vivid memories of our second trip to Paris with Bonpoint – read about our first trip here – keep on playing in my head. I’m closing my eyes for a second, and go back to the city we grew to love so deeply… Even James and Stella… as the moment we walked through the Jardin des Tuileries at 9AM in the morning, just a few hours after our arrival in Paris, and their smiles could not be bigger. All the good memories from last summer came back; the carousel, the chocolate croissants, the Bonpoint show, only the weather was a bit different this time round…
But the Bonpoint team would not be the Bonpoint team if they would not have taken care of this with the greatest care. So with a suitcase full of beautiful Bonpoint fall-winter clothes and shoes we were ready for a cold but sunny Paris. And so our adventure started…
With a full week ahead of us – and a mommy who also attended some of her favorite Haute Couture shows – we made sure we planned everything we absolutely wanted to do with the kids, and the things we could potentially do if we had some time left. Well, as it always goes with a full agenda, you never have enough time to do it all. Plus, I really wanted to avoid every major touristic spot, because… well… you never know these days. So we ticked the boxes of the Musee National Histoire Naturelle, Musee Rodin, the carousel in Jardin des Tuileries, and the big ferris wheel on the Place de La Concorde. All four I can really recommend when in Paris with little kids. It’s a long scroll down the page, but please do it slow, there is so much to see…
And then it was FINALLY there: the day of the Bonpoint Fall-Winter 2017 show. The day we looked forward to so much. Not only because of our great experience last season, or the fact that a Bonpoint show is an afternoon of happiness guaranteed, but especially because this season we worked on this project with the brand for over a month and on a much bigger scale. You might have noticed the many insta-stories I created with James and Stella, the “mini-stories” – as I like to call them – every weekend before the actual show, and the major shoot which I posted just before we left. I loved putting in my creativity while photographing my kids, and with them being so easy to work with, I could not have wished for a better result of every single piece of content we created. For someone who’s main focus is high fashion, this is and was the best kind of kids fashion collaboration I could have wished for. Now scroll down slowly, it’s worth it…
The show itself was – again – insanely cute, and full of incredible looks. It was even harder this time to make my selection of favorites for James and Stella. But, let me try to recap a bit of what the loveliest through my eyes: tulle maxi-skirts with nordic sweaters, the plaid farmer dresses with white slouchy little shirts, berets and baseball caps, blazers for boys and girls, shearling in all the colors of the rainbow, and last but not least, major hair-inspiration with the little braids. I can’t wait for Stella’s hair to grow long enough for that…
And then of course, I can’t let this go unmentioned, the cute little fashion crowd James, Stella, and their friends formed while hanging out before the show – remember last season, how much did they grow in so little time, didn’t they – and my amazing husband who was there every bit of it. I could not have done it without you!
Thank you Bonpoint for yet another unforgettable experience, we can’t wait for what the future brings for us…
