Being seated with a select group of invitees, consisting of ladies like Olivia Palermo and Miroslava Duma, it makes if even more amazing to attend a small-scale intimate Spring/Summer 2014 show…
And so it was at the Emilia Wickstead S/S14 show I attended last Sunday during London Fashion Week. A parade of pastels, brights, and whites walked down the stairs of the beautiful Halcyon gallery in Mayfair. I was especially blown away by the big flowty dresses in contrasting bright colors. Again, I am not big on colours, but somehow the pink/orange and orange/blue combinations in soft silk make me want to wear colours coming spring/summer. Of course I will decently wear those brights next to a well-selected white wardrobe, which will consist of strong lined cropped tops, and high wasted short, bermudas, and culottes. Post-bump figure will make this all possible by then!
Needless to say maybe, but for those who’ve missed it, overlooking the S/S14 collections showed so far, pastels are here to stay, as well as cropped tops and pants in length all shorter than the ankle, and high than the hips. So if you are still not used to soft pink overcoats, a naked midriff, or exposed calfs, make sure to make it ‘yours’ as soon as you can!
