When I looked in the mirror last week I was more than happy with what I saw. Not that I am normally not happy with what I see, but this time I realised my hair had the perfect length. From now on when I go to the hairdresser I won’t have to bring someone else’s photos (I’ve brought Elin’s, Elle’s, and so on), but I can simply scroll down to posts around this time and show my midi-bob, as I believe this look is called.
Moreover, you guys compliment me with my hairdo a lot lately, which is obviously super flattering. However, the number of emails I receive about how I get my hair like this is just outrages, and I can’t reply you all personally (so very sorry), so here it the secret: There is not really a secret. You all remember when I cut my long long ombre hair, and put some extra blond in it, well I basically told my hairdresser I wanted a bob which wasn’t going to be shorter than my jaw line, and the blond on top simply had to catch up with the blond in the ends. Often hairdressers don’t manage to get the good color (in my case), so I always tell them I don’t want yellowish blond. Yellow is the worst blond you can have… Make sure it’s white or ash blond. This looks always most natural, no matter what skin-tone you have. Other than that, there wasn’t much I’ve said before the sissors went in. But honestly, as I said before, now I actually got the perfect length, after a few months. Which means it’s all a matter time, the shape of your face, and preferences (or you must have the perfect hairdresser who knows exactly what looks best on you). If you wish for hair like this, just make sure you don’t go too short, as it takes long to grow, and go to a good hairdresser who is able to advice you, also on the coloring part.
Products. Do I use any products? Not really. Every now and then I have a wild moment in which I go all the way with my hair, but on a day-to-day basis I only use hairspray to make sure my hair isn’t too jumpy, some texture powder to add volume to my roots, and sometimes sea salt spray for extra texture in the ends. I also realised lately that my hair is best when I wake-up (the famous out of bed look), so these days I avoid making my hair wet under the shower in the mornings. I simply brush it, which makes me look like sheep in the start, but when I go through it with my hands and put it in place, it’s good all day (with some help of the above products). Last tip, but this is not possible for everyone, I only wash it once every three days.
Here you go, hair-tips by Thefashionguitar! I am really not sure if it’s of any help to you, but at least I have served all my lovely readers who have asked me about it. Oh and by the way, one thing I totally forgot to add, it could be that my hair works so well at the moment because I am pregnant. You know what they say; glowing, thicker hair, blabla. I don’t know… It might be the secret (and it will all look very sad after giving birth LOL).
