I would like to start by saying that any time spend with Chanel, is time perfectly well spend. So there’s not much that tops being invited by the Chanel Beauty team to come along to London for the presentation of Lucia Pica’s – Chanel’s new Global Creative Make-up and Color Designer – debut collection: Chanel Le Rouge Collection N°1.
With the summer wedding season in full swing I thought it would be fun to share my first “summer-wedding-look” from a few weeks back when we traveled all the way to the South of France for one of our dear friends’ wedding. And with a garden pre-party in mind, I went for the all-garden-look and went green, floral, and with simple messy hair and big sunnies. Not underdressed (important) but definitely not overdressed – we don’t want to steal away any thunder from the beautiful bride of course. I think that the Chloe Spring/Summer collection, but also their Pre-Fall is incredibly suitable for any outdoor wedding occasion.
There are so many beautiful sunset shades to wear, but if I had to pick one… it would be black. Not even a shade, nor called a real color, yet one of the most worn “colors” in fashion. The little black dress made way long time ago for everything not little and black, but the proper replacement I didn’t find until this pleated one arrived at my doorstep…
I’ve travelled quite a bit, and I count myself as one of the lucky ones who has actually lived in some of the most amazing cities in the world. Some with beautiful summers, some less fun, but summer in New York, I think, is a kind of summer like there’s nowhere else.
One of the things I love most about what I do, is creating the content, in the best way possible. This isn’t always easy, because 99% of the time this “content” includes me, and I’m damn hard on myself when it comes to “yeah, this looks fantastic/no, horrible”. Most of the time – say 80% of the images I take – are judged with the latter… It has to be perfect, or it’s not going to be at all. Now over the years – and the many photographers down that road with me – I’ve learned endless things that make me come to that “perfect” picture easier than spending hours in Photoshop…
