COPENHAGEN’S FINEST

Saks Potts SS17 The fashion guitar

My Instagram flushed by amazing Scandinavian streetstyle, pretty girls snapping even prettier runway girls on Snapchat/Instagram Stories, and tons of inspiration for next season. When that’s the case, you know it’s Copenhagen Fashion Week.

Copenhagen Fashion Week used to be one of my favorite weeks to go to. It was the start of the Fashion Week season, and there was just a small group of girls going. The latter is definitely not the case anymore. Not only are Copenhagen’s finest fashion labels very “accessible”, the city itself too. As one of the coolest Scandinavian cities to visit, you get two in one: Great shows, and the perfect city-trip. And it is one of the first Fashion Weeks of the season still – after Berlin Fashion Week – and with high-summer very much happening, it’s has the best vibe. Everyone from everywhere is happy to see each other again, and they know how to catch up over fancy Scandi drinks and dinners.

Still it is one of my favorite Fashion Weeks, too, but after the big move across the pond, two little kids, and the day-to-day business around The Fashion Guitar, I find myself skipping this week more than I want to. Fashion Month is a HUGE expense for me – with the exception of the occasional brand collaborations during Fashion Month, most of it is out of my own pocket – so you can imagine, there is a limit, and that limit made me skip Copenhagen the past three season. Meh, sad, I know. BUT we have the internet. Vogue Runway gives me everything I want: From Saks Potts pastels and corduroy, to Baum und Pferdgarten’s suiting in the perfect plaid, and by Malene Birger’s neck scarfs and long layers.

I mean, nothing beats an actual view on the runway, a close-up of the fabrics, a real-time view on colors and prints, but it does it for me. I’m still able to bring you the best looks, the trends, and the hair and make-up vibes. So here we go, my favorites from Copenhagen Fashion Week SS17 all lined up! Starting with Saks Potts on top, followed by Baum und Pferdgarten – always one of my favorites – and the truly sophisticated by Malene Birger.
