This cape is without any doubt my Fall hero piece. Both practical and polished. Not warm enough, though, for the freezing temperatures we are experiencing in New York right now. I love it, kind of, but it is really really too cold for this beautiful coverup. So obviously I shot this look before the Holidays – I work a lot in advance when busy times are ahead, plus, it gives me room to breath and work on side projects. But back to the cape, my hero piece. I can go on and on about it, its color, its perfect design, gosh, if we just all had a pocket with some spare change for beauties like this…
At the same time I feel a bit weird elaborating about my love for this piece of clothes after the shocking news we got from Paris the other day… All I do seems suddenly so irrelevant… I mean, I love what I do, and I love sharing all of this, but what I love even more is that you love this too. However, in the end… when such sad news find us… it all fades away within a second. Though I believe that in sad times like these, when the world stands still for a second, horrified by people who take other people’s lives for no right reason whatsoever, we have to keep on going. We never forget, but we do what we do best to make sure the people who wronged us don’t get to impact us more than they already did. We would never let that happen. Just for now, as I mentioned on my Instagram yesterday, let’s take a moment to think about this all, and then, take a deep breath and go on. Strong, proud, and with respect for each other.
