SO I was about to schedule this post when my internet decided to quit on me, and every attempt to get my content back failed… SO I’m keeping it short, but accompanied with a perfect Sunday-look. Simple, casual, with the right amount of statement pieces and colors.
Yup, you are reading it right, no new years resolutions. Which totally applies to me and my start of a “new year” – as most people do love New Years resolutions – but for me it’s simply not working. I don’t want to start doing things differently, better, or less, at the start of a new year, I want to do this whenever I feel the thing I’m doing is not serving its purpose any longer, or I’m not doing something I actually should do. I don’t need fireworks and champagne to make me draw these changes down and read them up load to my friends and family. Of course, I get it, a new year implies a fresh start, which make the timing perfect to change things, but I believe this can be done at any time of the year. On Mondays for example. For me that’s the perfect day, over and over again, to start fresh wherever necessary…
I might be spending NYE in bed – not in a good way, I’m feeling really rubbish – but I couldn’t leave you empty-handed on the last day of 2014, now could I… It’s been a year that brought me the highest highs, and the lowest lows. Lows I would never expect to happen, which sounds so stupid, because why not? It’s not that I’m some kind of invincible. Though it’s good to have you brought back to earth every now and then, not wish for anyone to happen the way it happened to me, but in the end, the result is the same. Life is beautiful, but fragile. One small error and it can change drastically. I won’t go through all of this again, most of you have been following me closely this year and I’m sure you know exactly what I’m talking about. What is really important now, is what’s in front of me, of us…
If there is one cape out there this season that’s making my head spin, it’s this one from Valentino. I had the pleasure to wear it for this shoot, and to the Valentino Haute Couture show two weeks back. It’s part of a little collaboration with the ladies from Departement Feminin, a beautifully curated store in Toulouse, carrying all of my favorite brands under one roof. Together we selected three pieces from my all time favorite brand, to be styled and shot it in my “natural habitat”, New York.
Can we go back already? Spending the Holidays in New York is a fairytale on its own, but spending it in Miami wouldn’t have been bad either… An empty beach, a most comfortable temperature, that beautiful new hotel – more on that later – made it all together, a perfect stay.
