I’m back in New York and terribly behind on blog posts, emails, and there are a million errands to run. However, I feel most inspired at the start of the day, so I prioritized my “things to do” and started with sharing some of my favorite photos from the HarpersBazaar.com + Nexxus street style shoot we did a few weeks back.
It feels like forever ago that Adam – Le 21ème – and I shot this “Everyday Icons” feature for H&M Life. As people around me know, I’m a very inpatient person, so I had kind of a meltdown waiting to share this with you… Yesterday morning it finally happened and I’m absolutely thrilled with the result!
One of the things I love doing most since the start my blog is shooting editorials and lookbooks for brands and magazines. In the beginning I was always super nervous and self-conscious, but as time – and many times in front of the camera – past this feeling disappeared, and now I can really enjoy it. The most recent one I shot – together with Lainy from Haute Inhabit – is a street style edit for Barbara Bui. I’ve been a huge fan of the brand for years, so you can imagine I was thrilled when they asked me to do this. These images are giving you a little sneak peek of an amazing set of photos showing Barbara Bui’s Pre-Fall 2015 collection, which will be available in-stores and online from July 2015!
Last week in Miami I made a little trip to the “new” art-district called Wynwood, where the Wynwood Walls became famous and revitalized a rather old and shady warehouse area. I didn’t believe my eyes; all around me – 80.000 square feet of walls – were small art-projects. Over 50 graffiti and street artists from about 16 different countries were hired to legally put their street-art on these walls, which resulted in an explosion of color and opulence. From a life-size wall with “fake” flowers, to giant green babies protecting multicolor army printed deers and technicolor abstraction. You can think of the craziest art thing and you might actually find it here! It has a kind of psychedelic feel, and almost all is far from realistic, but if you are in that kind of art I believe you will agree with me that this couldn’t be more beautifully done. My favorite art-project? I’m standing right in front of it!
Many doors have opened since I’ve started blogging, but there are always things I keep dreaming about. For example, I would love to go to a Chanel fashion show, or Celine, or shooting pieces from Chloe for Thefashionguitar.com perhaps? Well… I guess I’ve been a good girl this year so far…
