We all have our routines and we love them. We thrive by them. For me, routines are vital and if they continually slip—especially now that I have a family to look after—I get stressed, depressed, and unhappy. It’s simply impossible to have a full-time job and be a mother if I don’t follow our happy military family routine.
One of the happy routines I have is the “getting-dressed routine” in the morning—this always starts with picking a pair of jeans. On a weekday when I don’t have any specific meetings, I wear jeans almost always. Every season, I have a few favorite pairs that I keep on rotation, and then there are “new pairs” I try when I work on brand collaborations.
Last week was one of those moments when I got to try three new styles from 7 For All Mankind – I’ve been wearing the brand since college and would literally spend every dime I had to buy a pair. Back then, it was one of those brands we all had to have in our wardrobes. Today, I’m much more into fit and quality than I am into brand names, and 7FAM is a brand that I continue to wear.
Here I’m showing you three different styles—the skinny jean is NOT dead—in three different ways. The first look is a very trend sensitive one, in which I wear the 7FAM high-waisted cropped jeans with released hems, under multiple layers. Ideal length and super soft, almost as if you’re not wearing any jeans. Perfect for the always-changing spring weather.
The second look is a smart casual way of dressing, which I like for when I have meetings around town. Again a ankle-length jean, because it goes so well with my height. A dark wash always feels very sophisticated to me. It’s simple, but perfect when combined with a few other statement pieces.
Look number three is definitely one I would wear as a “day-to-night” look. I can wear the black skinny with a denim shirt to the office and just add heels—it’s perfect for meetings, but especially for drinks after work. Super soft and lightweight with a high waist, which I love, and deep dark black wash. A wardrobe staple.
