There’s five trends that are dominating my Spring/Summer wardrobe: first of all – obviously – the “Festival-trend” – did any of you go to the first Coachella weekend? How was it! – with some sophisticated boho, showing not too much skin, but lots of colors and patterns, and of course happy strappy sandals. Then there’s the “Color-pop” which I translate mostly to the shoes I wear. Bright slides and low heels, in suede or patent leather. Third and definitely one of my absolute favorites…
“Rock Romance” in which soft pink and leather are contrasting signatures of the look. “Light Weight” for those more chilly Spring/Summer moments, where long floaty lines and layers are key, but most importantly sneakers with thin socks to keep my feet warm… Last but not least “Sport Chic” which is an always returning theme in my wardrobe, because there’s just nothing better – in my opinion – than combining the unexpected; chic dresses and skirt with sneakers.
So with these five trends in mind, and a clothing rack full of new pieces to wear – thank you DSW for the great shoe supply – I thought it would be fun to create a more dedicated post towards these trends, and put them all in one place, here, in today’s post. One place to get inspired, and set you up with ideas for the new season.
Look 1 “The Festival Look”
Madden Girl sandals | Vilshenko pre-fall 2017 dress | Chloe backpack | Celine sunglasses.
These strappy boho sandals have been a hit for a couple of summers, and I’m still not over them. The cutest little details add so much to a simple sandal like this one. The perfect shoes for a floral boho maxi-dress this festival season.
Look 2 “Color-Pop”
Aldo slides | MIH Jeans top and pants | Dolce & Gabbana bag | Dita sunglasses.
This is me on my morning coffee run. Simple pair of jeans and tee, slipping on comfortable slides, yet in a super popping color for that “color-pop” thing that’s so close to my heart. I mean you know by now, I’m not afraid of a pair of statement shoes! Simplicity is key. The more minimal the slides are, the better they will be in a fire-red like these.
Look 3 “Rock Romance”
CL by Laundry heels | MIH Jeans top and pants | Pauw jacket | Roxanne Assoulin choker | Stella McCartney sunglasses.
So much love – forever – for a simple leather biker jacket, a pair of jeans and minimalistic sandals in soft pink. The ultimate contrast, a true princess in the city feeling. No dresses are needed to feel elegant in an edgy look like this one when wearing a romantic shoe like the ones I’m wearing…
Look 4 “Light Weight”
Mix NO. 6 sneakers | Baum und Pferdgarten dress | Chanel bag | Celine sunglasses | vintage denim jacket.
Hallelujah forever to dresses with sneakers. Especially when they are simple white sneakers, a pair of statement socks, and lots of layers. There is so much going on in this look, yet the one thing that stands out is the perfect white pair of sneakers. I wonder how long I will keep them this white, but no matter what, it’s the go-to shoe in a Sporty boho look.
Look 5 “Sport Chic”
Converse sneakers | Tibi top | Roxanne Assoulin hoops | Zara skirt (really old).
If there is one wardrobe staple we all own, it’s a pair of Converse. No matter what style you have at home, combining it with a feminine skirt/shirt look is always a good idea! It’s to the perfect way to dress when I have several meetings in town, and have to run around for the day. The fact they are sneakers doesn’t make it anything less sophisticated.
