When I opened the box and pulled out these beautiful Miu Miu AW16 pieces I could only think of how perfect they would look with the beautiful autumn foliage in the background. And so it goes – as per usual – I style a look, think of the perfect backdrop, head out with my photographer and shoot for the stars…
It’s very hard to screw something like this up. Even when I sometimes feel – while we are out shooting – that it might not come across as I had in mind, it usually does when I see it on a big screen. I mean, when working with such amazing fabrics – the brown, black, red, and white check is a key fabric in the label’s AW16 collection – and prints, shaped in the most compelling silhouettes, it’s meant to be perfect. No matter what.
I can’t ignore the fact that this is one of my personal favorites of all times… The volume of the pleats in the coat, its super slim waist, a 1970’s inspired printed MAXI-skirt – captioning maxi since this skirt was so long I had to wear it with literally the highest heels I own, and roll it up one time around my waist, don’t tell anyone – a statement bag of dreams, and the most unusual combination of pieces altogether, to me at least, made is a dream to shoot it. I am so inspired for this winter, can’t wait what’s more in store for us…
