I think one of the most beautiful pieces of clothing I have in my wardrobe is this Gucci dress. As mentioned before, I don’t spend too much money on clothing. I know this sounds silly, because my work evolves around clothing, but since my wardrobe is on such high rotation, I have to limit it – or I simply won’t be able to afford it. But in order to keep inspiring you, I have to refresh it all the time, which makes me go to favorite high street stores like Zara and H&M. This dress though, which came to me last NYFW, is the perfect example of the above. It’s one of those pieces I can only wear every now and then because it’s quite a statement piece. Though it’s too pretty to not wear it enough…
Hence I thought of winter botanics to incorporate this dress into my Fall/Winter wardrobe. Needless to say, bare legs in winter are not an easy thing to pull of – unless you live in a country that’s still tropical in winter time, or simply suffering from global warming… For example New York, where we are experiencing Spring temperatures in mid December, or Toronto, where no snow has reached us still…
Now I’m not touching upon the global warming problem, I leave that to the knowledgable. Though what I do love to touch upon is “how you can wear florals in winter”. Here’s one example: Combine your favorite floral dress, mini or midi that doesn’t really matter, with your favorite chunky coat, vest or knit even. It mixes styles and fabrics at the same time, and keeps you warm where needed. If the bare legs are not an option, I would wear this dress with a dark flared jeans, and keep the rest as it is!
