When you are expecting a baby, everyone around you expects you to be on some kind of baby-cloud, high up in the sky, dreaming away the day. In reality life goes on when you are expecting a little one, especially when you already have one, or more running around. This doesn’t mean I am not excited, in fact I am over the moon, and the happiest woman on earth, but it’s just reality.
When you are expecting a baby girl, people suddenly expect that you want to have everything in pink. Well, another reality check from my side, I am not the ‘I have a girl, so everything should be pink-mom’. Obviously I like to buy some things in pink, simply because they are sweet and cute, and they draw my attention. But there are so many (wrong) kinds of pink, so in my case, because I can’t tell you which pink I like (the shade is called Charlotte-pink, but it’s hard to find), pink is almost always a no-go. My friends and family though, who have given me baby presents to congratulate me with the pregnancy, know me pretty well I figured, cause they totally checked the box ‘Charlotte-pink’.
To touch upon pink on myself, I really like the idea of wearing pink, but it has to be in a very sophisticated way. Now I don’t say my looks are that sophisticated at the moment, cause it’s these days more a matter of what can I wear, instead of what do I want to wear (yes, even though it seems my bump disappeared again yesterday), but I still do try to find my personal-perfect-pink-shade (which is in fact different from Charlotte-pink for babies). Alexander Wang hits the perfect-pink-shade totally with his Resort 2014 collection, but I will wait for it to hit the high-streets, cause I am crap in spending that much money on color. Until then I will have to work around this more than simple powder pink shirt from H&M. Once found on sale, so definitely nothing special, but just the shade of pink which works for me at the moment…
Shirt H&M (similar here), denim shorts H&M (I bought two sizes up to be able to wear it with my bump, similar here), boots Balenciaga, clutch Givenchy, and sunglasses Ray-Ban Wayfarer.
