NO MATERNITY CLOTHES NEEDED

The past weeks I’ve got more and more questions about where I buy my maternity clothes, which maternity brands are my favourite and where to get those. Well, to be honest, only two jeans (H&M), one legging (Noppies), and two t-shirts (Noppies) are officially from the maternity department, the rest is just regular stuff from mostly Zara and H&M Trend. So basically, when you are pregnant, you don’t have to dress that differently. You can also just go a size up, or be a little inventive…

This post is for some just another outfit post, but for the pregnant, or (soon) to be pregnant, women an inspiration on how to get the job done without going to the maternity department.

I might not be able to close my leather jacket anymore (see first photo), but to compensate I wear it with a big snood that can cover my belly and gives warmth.
The a-line jumper I’m wearing is a perfect fit for a growing belly. I bought it one size up, which makes it not too tight, not too lose, and I can grow in it. I personally love this one (H&M) because the two-tone.

Of course some tops/cardigans/jumper are getting “shorter” as soon as your belly gets bigger (see the one I am wearing). H&M (Divided) has a great solution: extra long tops. These tops I wear underneath almost all my clothes. No matter what, it just makes sure my belly never gets cold. They sell these tops in almost every color, so there is something for every look.

This waxed trousers, which I’ve worn in many outfit post, is from Zara (no maternity, just regular collection too). The reason why I can keep wearing it during pregnancy, is because of the elastic band. No zipper, buttons, just an elastic band like a legging. It’s super comfortable, but without being just another legging. I wish Zara made this one also in other colors like the did for the other waxed trousers (burgundy, mustard, green).

Okay, shoes, and in particular wearing heels, when being pregnant is something very personal! I have often cramps in my calfs during night (one of those pregnancy things), so wearing heels like these are comfortable for me. Normally I would love to wear killer high ones, but that gives me back pains, so a no-go until 10th January. I have a pair of Pistol boots from Acne, and the look-a-likes from Sacha. Both perfect for now, and after. Again, this is personal, some women might not even be able to wear this hight…

To all maternity fashion lovers, I don’t say pregnant women should not wear maternity clothes, I just want to show that you can also do it without. Be clever, work with layers, elastic, or go a size up. Boyfriends/husbands have great stuff in their closet too by the way. I love to wear my bf’s sweaters, which give me that oversized feeling. Perfect with a skinny trousers like this waxed one!
