THE LONG LEG GAME

Charlotte Groeneveld | THEFASHIONGUITAR

I wouldn’t say I’ve ever had a real issue with my length – I’m 1.68 – but growing up with two super tall model-like sisters, made me always feel a little “short”. Having that said – my legs being at least 10 cm shorter that theirs – I must admit I like to play the long-leg-game every now and then, and hide a pair of super high heels under my favorite flared jeans. Not that I have a choose really, otherwise I have to tailor them big time. Anyway, the result is just as I want it to be: like my sisters’ legs, when they wear a pair of Converse with their flared jeans!

TRANSITIONAL COAT

With a wardrobe clean out also comes a seasonal laptop clean out. All outfit posts from last Fall/Winter, press features, and other stuff I collected in a million random folders have to be arranged and transferred to a safer place, a place where I can make sure it never gets lost. So when I was going through all folders from the shoots Jeff and I did, I found this look, which I ended up not posting, because I’d totally forgotten about it!

MONDAY GLITZ

Charlotte Groeneveld | THEFASHIONGUITAR

Starting the week with some casual glitter in an unusual combination. At the time I shot this look – which I have to admit is a little while ago – it wasn’t anywhere near possible to wear this dress without thick tights or, as I did in this look, a pair of jeans. I’m very aware of the fact that this look won’t be something everyone will appreciate, but I personally love the “weirdness” of it. A mix of favorites, making a statement, while being playful. The perfect recipe for the Monday morning!

DENIM & SUEDE

Charlotte Groeneveld | THEFASHIONGUITAR

One of my favorite looks from Paris Fashion Week, and also one of the most casual ones I’ve ever worn to a fashion show. Though I never made it to the actual show I was going to that morning… After being stuck in Paris traffic for way too long, I arrived at Jardin de Tuileries, making my way to the show entrance, CLOSED. Well, you know, things happen, no biggie. Such a shame though to go all the way and then not being able to sneak in last-minute… But anyway, it’s Easter Weekend, and it’s “warm” in New York! It excites me so much that we’re finally facing Spring, and the city slowly changes from sleepy into bustling and happy. You really see the difference, people are out on the streets, having dinner outside – I’m not kidding, yesterday every restaurant had people dining outside!

WELCOMING SPRING

Charlotte Groeneveld | THEFASHIONGUITAR

It’s been a while since my last post – sorry! – and reason for that is that I took of the weekend off to go upstate with family and friends. For the first time in 4,5 years I didn’t bring my laptop with me – and this is very exceptional, you should have seen Thomas’ face when I told him. Of course there was a little instagramming involved while we were there, but honestly, I kept it to a minimum – check out my photos from our stay here. Anyway, up there in Stocksbridge it was cold… even colder than on Manhattan… Not ideal in terms of timing, because we were all longing for Spring so badly!
