A little over a year ago I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. It came to me as a complete shock, but I’ve survived, and I’m here to tell the story. Nowadays almost everyone if affected by cancer in some way, whether it’s yourself or someone around you. Being diagnosed with this disease is terribly scary, and even something you naively never imagined to happen to yourself or your beloved ones. I was in shock, and it had a huge impact on my emotional well-being. Suddenly I wasn’t sure about my life, seeing my kids grow up, and doing all those things I had planned for the future – something I had taken for granted all along.
Without any doubt, a long weekend on St Barths is the perfect escape from a hot New York summer or when winter takes over the city. Staying in one of the beautiful villas that Wimco manages on the island makes your experience even more unforgettable. Almost desperately I’m holding on to these thoughts and look back at one of the best vacations we’ve done as a family. Not only our two toddlers had the time of their lives, Thomas and I landed in paradise too, and therefore wanted to share this experience with all young – or soon to be – families out there!
Paris #flashback… Jeff and I shot this beautiful Chloé look and fragrance in-between a busy show schedule and heavy showers… Unfortunately the last days of Fashion Week in Paris were kind of rainy, but nonetheless, with a few Fall favorites, we managed to make it work. Though it’s not really about the look in this post, this time it’s about what gives it the final touch…
There’s always a stressful moment right before any Fashion Week starts, but especially when I have to travel to it: Packing stress. Usually I end up checking the weather and key pieces of the season, but the weather can be so unpredictable, and key pieces so pricy! So once I arrive, for example in Paris, I end up buying things out of necessity, and often too many. This time though, I got a little help from a very nice shoe fairy…
Not even one week after leaving Paris, Fashion Months seems to be ages ago. It’s was the best thing I ever decided on, leaving for the Florida Keys straight off the plane from Paris. Though it felt so good to come home last night… Home sweet home, New York. And being back in New York means back to business. This morning I reviewed IRO’s SS16 collection, which looked incredible (see my snapchat: Thefashionguitar), and I still have tons of outfits lined up for you! I will be sharing these last summer-looks the coming two weeks, before the weather starts to change… Fall is upon us, and even though summer has passed by way to quick, I kind of look forward to it…
