REAL LIFE STUFF

Zoe Jordan Thefashionguitar Charlotte Groeneveld

Looking at these photos I can only think “I miss my pink hair” and that I have to color it again for New York Fashion Week. Which is, by the way, starting TOMORROW. But not to worry this season… Because with a full but organized agenda, a rack full of amazing looks to wear, I feel quite relax about it all. Honestly, for the first time in 5 years of fashion weeks, I’m not completely freaking out about everything I still need to do/plan/pack/request/sort. I guess it’s a simple “I’ve learned from my mistakes” situation, and practice does really make perfect – as much as possible in this case. And I’m proud of myself for managing it all so much better than previous seasons. Not that anything would change for you really, because if I would not have told you about it, you would probably never know…

BASICALLY ME

The Line New York Charlotte Groeneveld Thefashionguitar

Recently a Dutch magazine requested an interview, and – of course – I said “YES”, because I love to connect with my home-country when it comes to my work, my life abroad, and motherhood. Yet, when the first draft got to me, I was so sad about the result. It was more a pieces about stereotypical things about women and girls who blog, than what I actually talked about on the phone. I sensed a bittersweet tone of voice, almost as if it was fed by a little bit of jealousy. Now I know for sure that this person never meant for this to happen, but sometimes when we write, especially when you write as a freelancer, and you feel the pressure of creating your own voice, you lose the actual point, and objectivity fades…

PARIS WITH BONPOINT: THE SHOW, THE PHOTOS, THE FUN

Bonpoint fall-winter 2017 Thefashionguitar Charlotte Groeneveld

Sunday morning, I’ve put on my noise cancelling headphones – key to writing in a house with two small kids – but still vaguely hear the kids playing happily in the living room. After a week of major flu epidemics in our house, post-flight neck issues on my end, and big-time recovery from a proper European jet lag for all of us, it’s finally time to get back on the horse and do what I love so much: writing, editing, and sharing it all with you. While selecting my favorites from too many photos, vivid memories of our second trip to Paris with Bonpointread about our first trip here – keep on playing in my head. I’m closing my eyes for a second, and go back to the city we grew to love so deeply… Even James and Stella… as the moment we walked through the Jardin des Tuileries at 9AM in the morning, just a few hours after our arrival in Paris, and their smiles could not be bigger. All the good memories from last summer came back; the carousel, the chocolate croissants, the Bonpoint show, only the weather was a bit different this time round…

50 SHADES OF GREEN

Cluse watches Charlotte Groeneveld Thefashionguitar

No, I’m not going to talk about that movie, nor has this post anything to do with things like “green with envy” or Stella’s favorite cartoon hero Poison Ivy – I know, it’s crazy – but today it’s all about the celebration of color, and the most beautiful one of all: green…Yet, the real important thing in this look is actually the tiniest…

LET ME BRIGHTEN UP YOUR DAY!

Valentino tulle dress Charlotte Groeneveld Thefashionguitar Bergdorfs

There’s nothing more depressing than those – what seems to me – endless gloomy winter days. Not really depressing in the sense of it’s real meaning, but you know… those gray skies all day, every day, just do no justice to our Resort-imaginations that are running wild now all of it has dropped online and in-stores. Drooling over every single Resort lookbook, I’m trying to figure out a way of “doing it” wearing it, without loosing my mind – quite literally – in winter’s icy temperatures. I can’t recall winter being so harsh on me last season, but that might be a case of ignorance. Bliss. Yet, I totally have to figure out again how to do this Resort-thing.
