Spring/Summer 2011 inspiration III: Close your eyes… dream away… pretend you are a space princess… Queen Amidala (Natalie Portman in Star Wars I) would have been the perfect model for this Spring/Summer 2011 trend inspired by novels and our galaxy. It is a mix of funny sunglasses, silly clever dresses, weird prints, animal shoes, and outer space.
This trend looks on the one hand very familiar: floral dresses and shirts, but on the other hand, designers like Sarah Burton (for Alexander McQueen) and Charlotte Olympia took the idea of botanicals to a whole new level; grain-high heels, banana-shoes, and leave-dresses. It looked almost as if the models and nature became one…
