LADY DIOR BUT GRUNGIER

Lady Dior

There’s nothing in the world that gives me a cozier feeling than a big oversized chunky winter coat. It’s a feeling of luxury in a time of sadness, because truth is, I still can’t wrap my head around the fact we’re deep into Fall. Not long now and New York City will become a frozen city, where days of crisp blue skies will go hand in hand with gloomy snow-days. Not that I don’t like it, but it was like “wait now we’re going to enjoy the summer” and then summer was already behind me. I blame it on my crazy busy summer, full of weddings, work-trips, and Fashion Weeks – both RTW and Couture. None of that was anything less than AMAZING, but it just proves that time is going so quick these days. Not only because of work, but also with our family lives. Early Fall Stella turned 5! FIVE YEARS OLD, I mean, where did the time go?

Anyway, here’s one of my favorite Fall looks, with a beautiful Dior coat and Lady Dior bag – which I both borrowed from the brand, to show you how to wear it! Combined with the best jumpsuit of the season – read more to find out where you can get it – and of course, my Triple S sneakers. No day goes without those… Sorry, but I’m not sorry!

LOOK OF THE DAY WITH CHARLOTTE GROENEVELD

Thefashionguitar Look of the Day

Looking back at this week, there’s obviously much more important topics to discuss than what I’ve been wearing and whether or not you should buy those looks. But as the world keeps on turning, and our alarm clocks still rings at 7AM on weekday mornings – on weekends we let our kids be our wakeup alarms – and that forever nagging question “what to wear today” never seems to take a day off, I’m sharing what I’ve been wearing this week, and of course, where to get it! The “Look of the Day” is basically a destination where you will find a mix of simple “Outfit of the Day” shots, collaborations that launched that week, or unpublished but noteworthy looks. Read more to get this week’s five best looks…

J IS FOR JAMES & S IS FOR STELLA

Charlotte Groeneveld Thefashionguitar for Aurate New York

Jewelry is a personal thing; you either love a certain piece, or you straight up hate it. I know this sounds a little harsh, but it’s truly how it goes, or at least for me. I’m so particular in what I like that I end up wearing one set of rings – all the time – and one pair of diamond earrings, one of two watches, and a bangle or two. That’s it.

Now don’t get me wrong, it’s not that I’m not open to new pieces, or not willing to find them. I am! But again, it’s just so damn hard. So imagine when this super lovely and talented girl boss from The Netherlands approaches you with her flourishing fine jewelry brand, and asks to create a personal “jewelry” look together… you jump, high!

WHAT TO WEAR AT NEW YORK FASHION WEEK

Veronica Beard by Charlotte Groeneveld for Thefashionguitar

As always there’re many trends surfacing right before Fashion Month kicks off, and these trends determine more or less the whole street style landscape. For some this might feel like a repetition of styles and looks, and even specific pieces that get just a little too much attention. Some of which we never thought it would stand a chance – the “Ugly sneaker” trend for example – and yet, they are beloved by almost everyone right now.

Less in the spotlights right now, simply because it’s still summer and temperatures aren’t going anywhere cold yet, are statement knits. Needless to say, in fashion we are always a little ahead of time, so right now I’m doing my research on the best Fall/Winter 2019 knits, and I have partnered up with Veronica Beard, a brand close to my heart, to style three of their best ones…

But, since New York Fashion Week is upon us, and all you want is to know what to wear, we combined the two and created three amazing fashion week looks, which will absolutely be street style worthy, and afterwards, the perfect addition to your fall wardrobe!

PRINCESS FOR A DAY: THE BEST DRESSES ON SALE

Charlotte Groeneveld for Thefashionguitar wearing Chanel Spring-Summer 2018 runway dress

Okay, I’m not going to lie; most dresses that qualify as “dream dress” to me, are expensive. Even on sale they are not most likely to be out of my budget, but a girl can dream. So I’m dreaming. Yet, on the other end of the spectrum, there are dresses, especially when they are on sale, that are lifting every spirit in my body without breaking the bank. Trust me on this one, I know what I’m talking about… I’ve a wedding in Italy next week, AND the Venice Film Festival coming up, so I’ve done my research. Read more to see all the best dress on sale, and my “princess experience” in Paris during the Chanel Cruise show back in May 2018…
