Such a pleasant surprise this morning when I went out: Perfect weather, finally!

On this happy occasion I decided to take out my mesh ‘baseball’ top from H&M (similar here), and combining it with a leather legging from Zara (similar here), my Celine espadrilles (similar here), and Prada sunglasses.

It’s never too late to invest in a good pair of buckled boots! Starting top left with Alexander Wang (on sale), followed by THE Balenciaga boots (pre-fall collection). The low cut-offs are H by Hudson via ASOS, and the quilted ones (very Chanel) via Topshop. The Givenchy knee-boots are on sale, can you believe it? Neither can I, and the ones with the white sole, Alexander Wang, too. Both via Net-a-Porter. The most left on the bottom are new season Laurance Dacade. Enjoy (sale) shopping!

Laser-cut pencil-skirt, high-tops, and a white shirt. Not a usual combination, yet a perfect one to start the week with, a perfect one to have casual business meetings in, and a perfect one to – in the middle of everything – pick your kid(s) up from music class. This is how I look when the above comes together in one day, and a baby bump is in the way (no not really, but it gets heavier every day).

A grey coat comes in handy on grey days, even when it’s June… FREAKIN’ June and I am again wearing my winter coat… What went wrong? As optimistic as I was a couple of weeks ago, as sad am I today. Summer is completely letting us down, not even to mention spring… BUT there is always a silver lining, and today it’s Father’s Day! Not only my dad is the best in the world, but since January 2012 there is another dad that does amazing: Thomas. And not only is he the most amazing dad to James, he is also the loveliest man to me!

Today I am wearing a Jaeger LeCoultre coat, H&M Men jumper, Zara boyfriend jeans (similar here), and Celine pony-hair espadilles (similar in sand here).

Yesterday the two strap sandal, or better said, the hottest and most discussed piece in town, became instantly my best friend again. It took me some courage to put them on though, cause they are not at all elegant, nor feminine, yet it makes every elegant feminine look just that little bit cooler than wearing heels as per usual. Plus, this is a very welcome trend for pregnant women, true that. Although please keep in mind to only wear them when the rest of your look is in fact elegant and/or feminine, otherwise you could end up looking as if you’re going to work in the hospital (no offense! It was Thomas’ joke), or walking straight out of the cork-society.

We all have favourites pieces in our wardrobe, and we all have pieces that we have forgotten about… until you clean out your wardrobe (something I tend to do a lot lately). In this photo you see my absolute favourite piece of all times, my Ray-Ban Wayfarer, and the perfect tailored jacket I had totally forgotten about, the one from Maison Martin Margiela for H&M. Cause seriously, no matter how many gorgeous sunglasses I have, and I do have quite a few, I always grab this one. You know what I mean, don’t you?

Things aren’t black and white, are they? And with ‘things’ I mean literally everything. However, for today we stick to fashion related ‘things’ otherwise this write-up will be more of a paper for the Economist, and trust me, I am not the one who should write that…

So, when it comes to fashion I love black and white, to wear it and to look at it (not always to shoot it though), but I definitely learned to not see fashion black and white. With this I mean that I learned from experience that things that I might not like from the start, could slowly grow on me, and in the end it turns out I love it. Or that items I might don’t like any longer, are sometimes worth saving for later. Cause to start with a simple example, there are plenty of items that I have thrown away/sold which I very much regretted a season later. Also some items, for example my former travel-wear from years ago, suddenly starts to get trendy. Here I am talking about my good old Birkies. I used them when I travelled through India, to be exact three different types of Birkies travelled with me back then. I threw away one pair (they were too dirty), I gave away another pair (it was just not my style, really not), and one pair ended up in a bin bag, moving with me from apartment to apartment, but never ever taken out again. Well, you feel ‘m comin’?! YES, exactly, those comfy Birkies are now THE trend of town. A good thing that I decided to save them for whenever, now however I just need the courage to wear them again (thanks Sabrina and Cammy for making a first, and thanks Phoebe for making those sandals trendy again: our Celine furry friends I am talking about).

Another black and white discussions, in terms of fashion, and one I’ve touched upon previously, is about buying more pairs/items from one and the same thing. For example Converse, I have them in black and navy, cause in my eyes Converse All Stars are always a good idea. Now I also got another pair of Isabel Marant sneakers. And I know, it is quite extravagant to get two of those expensive high-tops, but since my first pair is completely worn out but yet still my favourite kind of sneaker, I couldn’t let these black & white limited edition ones go. So in short, I can’t predict the future, so I shouldn’t be feeling sorry for buying another pair of the shoes I adore most (if my budget allows of course). And then we’ve talked about nail polish, of which I bought a new one recently, in white. Together with my Chanel Black Satin those two are simply the best colours to wear. For me. Or am I being too black and white when saying that, I might love red in a few years… Oh boy you see, this is getting nowhere! What am I even trying to say here…

Anyway, last but not least, I am going to touch the biggest black and white inner-discussion I had recently: cow-prints. I couldn’t get the idea of wearing cow-prints, even with Givenchy introducing it in their collection, I just couldn’t get myself to get something cowy. Uhm yeah, until last weekend (which means it took me a season to get used to it LOL)… when I actually decided to buy a cow-jumper… This, once again, underlined the fact that I should wear fashion in black and white, but not form black and white opinions about it. Cause I never know what’s around the corner, and sometimes it might just surprise me, as a cow-print on a jumper, or the ugliest sandals in town, which turn out to be the fashion statement of the year!

Baggy leather is the kind of leather pants that are perfect for me at the moment. Skinny leather leggings are sometimes still quite tight, and that is absolutely not nice on my bump. Quite a casual sporty look, perfect for a Tuesday!

I am sure you have noticed my slight obsession with these leopard espadrilles from Celine… I made an edit about them (accompanies with lots of other espadrilles, to make it not too obvious how much I liked them), and I tried them on several times, but I wasn’t sure if I should spend such a big amount of money on… well they are still, you know, espadrilles. To make sure I was doing the right thing, I also tried the orange edition at Selfridges, and when I was in Stockholm, at Nathalie Schuterman, I tried a blue version (also awesome), but still I ended up thinking the leopards were just hitting the right spot. On many levels… So when I found my size the other day at Matches Fashion, I could only do one thing, close my eyes, slip my card through the machine, and smile.

We have seen all-white looks everywhere, and I am a big fan of the sophisticated come-across it creates. However, until recently I didn’t know what my ideal all-white look was. Weird right, cause there is plenty of inspiration out there… I guess it was because most of the all-white looks I liked most were the ones where tall girls wore white palazzo pants with simple white t-shirts tucked in (palazzos don’t work very well on me), or the white suits, which I absolutely LOVE, but a suit with a good fit comes with an equally good price… Also not an option right now. So when I got this slouchy white pants from Ann-Sofie Back, which is ideal with the elastic waistband (you hear me preggers?), and this beautifully designed white shirt, I could finally see me do an all-white look. One which actually suits my posture. YAY!
