I met Tara, a New York based fashion writer, at the Tibi Resort presentation a few weeks ago. Her cute little bag immediately caught my eye. Perfectly shaped – reminding me a bit of a Celine box bag – its sophisticated color, but not by a brand I could identify immediately. Intriguing much. As it was laying on the table, I asked her if I could take a look. “Of course!” she said.

Tara Lamont-Djite started her career in the magazine world Devil Wears Prada-style assisting the editor-in-chief at InStyle magazine in Australia. She then relocated to New York City where she rejoined the InStyle family, contributed to Fashionista and The Fashion Spot, and spent a year in the beauty world as an Associate Beauty Editor. She now writes for publications such as T Magazine, Style.com, Harper’s Bazaar, and Marie Claire.

The clutch she’s carrying with her is the Juliet Clutch by Benah for Karen Walker. “I’m from Sydney and I always love to support local Australian designers” she tells me. Last fashion week she met Brenda – the designer for Benah – and they became fast friends. “She is such an incredible, lovely, and creative person! S/S 2014 was her first collaboration with Karen Walker, a New Zealand-native and another favorite designer of mine. I loved the collaboration and placed an order for one of these clutches as soon as I could! Pink is one of my favorite colors at the moment (I was obsessed with pink coats last fall), and this pastel hue is so gorgeous for summer”. I can only agree with her and her bag, and I must admit that I’ve secretly gone through her website over and over already. I might need to order it too…
